01 / Read the position

Before choosing a target, look at the ground. Trenches, ruins and high ground give the battlefield its shape. A move changes where your unit can act from—and what the opposing side can reach next.

The question is simple: where does this unit need to be after this turn? Sometimes the next useful order is movement rather than fire.

02 / Find out before you commit

Fog of war leaves part of the battlefield unknown. Reconnaissance can turn an uncertain approach into an informed decision.

Look at the difference between what you can see now and the ground you have already explored. The next reveal may change where you send your units.

03 / Make a position worth holding

Sappers can construct sandbags and wire. Their role gives you another way to shape a position before the next exchange.

Think about the position you need to defend and the approach you expect your opponent to take. Fieldworks are part of that plan.
